There are four capable powertrains offered for the Ford Escape. The base engine is a 1.5L EcoBoost® that gets up to 180 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. For the most versatile drive, you can choose the 2.0L EcoBoost® engine that gets up to 250 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque.

Front-wheel drive comes standard on the Escape, but All-Wheel Drive Disconnect is available on every trim level. On top of providing you with reliable traction, the Escape can also help you tow up to 3,500 pounds.

Interior Dimensions

The Ford Escape features seating for up to five people. There’s plenty of space in to relax in both rows of seats, including 42.4 inches of legroom up front and 40.7 inches of legroom in the back seats. The second row can also sit three people comfortably with 56 inches of shoulder room.

It also offers lots of convenient cargo room. There’s a large trunk with up to 37.5 cubic feet of space. If you need room for your belongings, you can use the second-row 60/40 split-fold and sliding seats to open up to 65.4 cubic feet of cargo room.

Safety Features

You’ll also have peace of mind in the Ford Escape. It comes with several airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag, and a Safety Canopy® System that covers both rows of seats. There are also lots of driver-assistance features onboard that can help prevent accidents.

On the Ford Escape SE, you can enjoy an upgraded infotainment system. Ford SYNC® 3 comes with a touchscreen display that features lots of smartphone integration with Bluetooth®, Apple CarPlay™, and Android Auto™. The SE Sport Hybrid give you all those features on top of a 2.5L I-4 hybrid powertrain
